On the safe side

Une micropuce implantée sous notre peau, solution aux problèmes de sécurité ou menace pour la liberté individuelle ? Si la première réponse est évidente pour la compagnie allemande qui fabrique ces puces, elle ne l’est pas pour le journaliste qui assure la promotion de ce produit et prend peu à peu conscience de ces effets pervers.

A microchip implanted in humans offers a solution to many security problems, but also poses a threat to personal freedoms. The German company manufacturing this chip sees a rosy future for itself, but the journalist helping the company with its promotion finds her loyalty challenged as she probes the effect of the chip.

Un docu-fiction d’anticipation présente les conséquences d’une épidémie mondiale d’une grippe mortelle. En Allemagne, les autorités tentent de maîtriser la situation. Le réalisme de l’histoire est porté par un postscriptum où des scientifiques donnent leur opinions sur le sujet.

This “future real” drama documentary follows the effects of an outbreak of a killer flu virus as it creates havoc globally. Within Germany the authorities strive to avoid the breakdown of law and order and vital services, illustrated through cameo situations. The plausibility of the story is supported by the views of real scientists in the postscript.

Une présentation de la complexité des enjeux liée à l’utilisation des animaux pour développer de nouveaux médicaments. Cette production n’a pas succombé à la tentation de privilégier un point de vue unique sur cette question épineuse.

A feature length docu-drama presenting the complex issues surrounding the use of animals for testing the development of new drugs. This production avoids the temptation to cast people and issues in terms of good and evil, with characters on both sides recognising the other point of view.
